Relaxing Finery from Sophie Allport

Relaxing Finery from Sophie Allport

The quintessentially British homeware brand Sophie Allport has steadily built up an impressive line of delightfully created products. The family run business excels at producing high-quality homeware items imbued with distinctive patterns and design work.

Here at Dotmaison we love the clarity of imagination that the company’s product show off, and the fact that they are certain to add charm throughout the home all year round. Here’s a bit of background to the Sophie Allport story- and some of our favourite products currently available.

Sophie Allport the company was founded by desginer Sophie and her accountancy trained brother Jem in 2007. With an emphasis on bone china and kitchen products, the company has grown in range to develop ideas for right across the home.

Of particular interest may well be the Sophie Allport items that beautifully combine style and relaxing comfort. The above Bee Cushion certainly does that. The cushion displays a design inspired by the activity of bees in Sophie’s garden, and the energy and style of the piece is also brought into an entire collection of Bees Bedding.

The bedding collection featuring the bees pattern consists of a lovely soft brushed cotton with a 200 thread count. The contrasting horizontal striped on one side ang smaller dotted bees on the other make this a wonderfuly elegant style to use in the bedroom.

Another fantastic piece is the Chase Your Dreams Cushion, also part of the larger Sophie Allport Hares bedding set. Brilliant for bringing a wistful burst of energy into any interior space, the cushion makes excellent use of a dreamy pattern of hares bounding across a pale background. Filled with duck feather for a luxurious offering of soft restfulness, the cushion is a perfect way to chill out on sofa, chair or bed.

The Hares bedding set brings the magic of the jumping creatures onto duvet set of single, double, king and super king sizes. With a smaller detail of the hares pattern running across the background, the duvet covers provide a lovely feeling of warmth and positivity.

Another creature who might be interested in chasing both dreams and hares is portrayed on the splendid Woof Cushion. Also part of an overall bedding set, the cushion displays a dignified and cute
Dachshund as its star.

Part of the Woof collection, the combination of colours and shades, from the bright red of the hound’s collar, to the grey, tan and brown of the dog hairs, the overall effect is similar to an oil painting. Another brilliant example of the Sophie Allport style and devotion to homely relaxation!
