For many people, wood is a far smarter and more cost effective way of flooring interior rooms than carpets and rugs. Add the fact that it is a remarkably stylish flooring method and the savvy designer is onto a sure fire winner.
The Danish artist Pernille Snedker Hansen certainly thinks so. She has taken this idea of luxury wooden flooring to great creative lengths with her Marbelous Wood design – a piece of artistic finesse that can be used for resplendent wall decoration as well as floors.
Using an ancient marbling technique, Hansen strives to give the wood a mysterious, organic, and life affirming pattern. The artistic finishes applied to the decoration communicates in a pleasing fashion with the natural age rings of the wood lying underneath.
