As big fans of monochrome, it’s always a pleasure to come across an interior that uses the full capabilities of black and white – or to transpose and use the Italian, Bianco e nero. The Osaka, Japan based boutique using that evocative name certainly puts across a powerful stylistic statement of intent.
Clothing and items are displayed peacefully and minimally – the space created by Nico Architects is like a haven for shoppers from the hustle and bustle of the big city crowds. Versatile and practical the space can be structured to suit whatever displays shop managers wish to develop.
Designer Nina Funahashi explains the sparing, minimal look commenting that she has created “a sustainable and changeable design that can be used for a long period.”
