Stone is a classic material for all sorts of designs and uses. Having stood the test of time for millennia, its suitability for a multitude of purposes is unquestioned. With the hard wearing and malleable aspects attributed to it, it is a great choice for the most creative of designers. This certainly applies to Copenhagen-based designers Stine Gam and Enrico Fratesi, who have created a set of tables cut from different kinds of Italian stone.
Inspired by mid-century Scandinavian vessels, the designers aimed to take something of their clean lines, natural colours and variations in texture and glaze. Bringing something of the meditative nature of a pre-historic stone circle to their work, they capture a compelling and reflective atmosphere.
